Electric heating system for the driver's cab for LE 5100CP locomotives

Presentation

The installation is installed in the engine room, in place of the current air heater. It is fixed to the existing supports.
The installation is powered by the existing 380Vac electrical circuits. It consists of a metal casing with double walls.
The electrical resistors, by connecting them in the circuit, ensure thermal comfort in the driver's station.

  • Energy consumption is reduced by the difference between the power of the old motor fan (273 W) and the power of the new motor fan (55 W);
  • Energy consumption is reduced by reducing the operating time (fans are thermostated);
  • The energy saving is about 1.8 KW per hour of locomotive operation.
