The system is intended to equip the 1000 series railcars, modernized by SC MARUB SA Braşov and SC RELOC SA Craiova.
The system ensures:

• Diesel engine start, stop and acceleration control
• control of reversing, sanding, gearbox and lighting
• taking over operating data from engine and gearbox control units

To control each engine and each gearbox, a J1939 network was implemented on each unit. The vehicle bus is CANopen.
To control the reversing process, information about the speed of travel is taken from the vehicle's speedometer.
For this purpose, an RS485/RS232 communication was used.
The mechanic can monitor the operating parameters of the vehicle/vehicles using an LCD display.

The automation system was integrated by redesigning the electrical installation of the two electrical panels and control desks, but also by their construction by SC TEHMIN-BRAŞOV SRL.
