The current state of the locomotives from a technical point of view leads to high costs of transport, maintenance and fuel. The solution to reduce expenses is the technical adaptation of these locomotives to the actual operating conditions.
Tehmin Brasov proposes the following solutions for the economical operation of the locomotive, which once implemented can make the operation and maintenance predictable, simultaneously with cost optimization:

Ventilation System
of Radiators

- The system ensures the operation at the optimal temperature of the Diesel traction engine, the hydraulic transmission and the supercharging air
- The system is provided with electric fans for air circulation through the cooling radiators


Parameter Diagnosis
of Operation
With the help of this system, the locomotive's diagnostic data is recorded and displayed, as well as possible errors and malfunctions during operation. The locomotive data is taken on a non-volatile memory card.
When the locomotive goes into overhaul (maintenance), the data is downloaded to a PC and the evolution of the parameters can be easily followed, in the form of graphics, or in the form of a report:
- the Diesel engine and the electric transmission of the locomotive;
- temperature of MT support bearings;
- air pressure in the general pipe, in the brake cylinders of the bogies;
- voltage and current of transmission and auxiliary services.
The diagnostic system is equipped with a GSM modem and antenna for real-time transmission of diagnostic data and operating parameters to operators.
The recorded data is used for three purposes:
1. Tracking the locomotive's technical condition.
2. Economic efficiency:
- diesel consumption recorded by ICL;
- energy consumed in traction mode;
- energy consumed by auxiliary services;
- operating time of the Diesel engine: total, under load and empty.
3. Traffic safety by analyzing the air pressure in the general pipe and the brake cylinders.
Examples of monitored parameters:
- Battery charging current
- Diesel engine speed
- Cooling water temperature and pressure
- Oil temperature and pressure
- Boost air pressure
- Main generator power
- Oil pressure at the inlet and outlet of the combined oil filter
- The current on the traction motor groups
- Main generator voltage
- Fuel pressure on the injection pump ramp
All operating parameters are shown in the driver's seat on a color display, and breakdowns are sent by email to the ground and are shown on the display.
