SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT

The project proposed the creation of an intelligent system to increase train traffic safety (acronym SDDCF - Automatic Train Control and Diagnosis System) that would permanently monitor vibrations, jolts and shocks occurring in the movement of rolling stock on the railway - with concrete application on passenger cars - and the transmission to the ground in real time of alerts of possible defects correlated with the geographical position given by a GPS module, for the exact location of the affected area, as well as the storage of related data in order to compare successive recordings.
Since these defects can be the cause of accidents with serious consequences, involving significant human and material losses, the SDDCF system aims to contribute positively to the safety of train traffic, the technical condition of the rolling stock and the comfort of passengers. At the same time, a software is being developed for reading, processing and transmitting data remotely regarding the measured accelerations, as well as the development of a software for analyzing this data, for signaling areas with excesses of normal acceleration values and for creating a database for the comparative diagnosis of different railway vehicles.

STAGE I (2025): DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SDDCF FUNCTIONAL MODEL
Objectives:

– Technical and scientific substantiation regarding the technical, innovative solutions for the design, development and implementation of the SDDCF functional model.

– Development of a technology (test stand) to test the functionality of the designed solution.

– Development of software applications for reading, processing and transmitting to the ground the measured parameters.

Stage Summary:
  • Act 1.1 – Study of the current status of the railway vehicle vibration monitoring system and their specific regulations.
  • Act 1.2 – Study of the interaction of the vibration measurement system with the systems in the CF wagons
  • Act 1.3 – Electrical and mechanical dimensioning of the SDCCF system
